The Games Strategy, Planning and Analysis (SP&A) team develops strategic insights to advance the company's gaming initiative and is primarily responsible for programming strategy, audience/performance insights, competitive analysis and metrics development. Executives and senior management rely heavily on our team to accurately assess, contextualize and forecast business and conduct the strategic analysis used to inform critical business decisions.
In this role, you will need to be an entrepreneur, analytical thinking partner with an eye for detail and have proven skills and experience as a cross-functional partner. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and accept ambiguity. You must be a skilled communicator capable of conveying complex ideas using qualitative and quantitative means to work effectively with a broad spectrum of stakeholders. The position is based in our Los Angeles office.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Preparation of evaluation analyzes (model building, scenario testing) to support decisions and negotiations.
- Develop insightful presentations that summarize key data, identify underlying trends, and ultimately translate into actionable policy recommendations.
- Conduct market research and competitive trend analysis and summarize for a senior management level audience.
- Work cross-functionally with our Data Science and Consumer Insights teams to develop new metrics and monitor them through dashboards and reports.
- Work directly with top gaming organization leaders: expertly fulfill their requests, translate their high-level thoughts into actionable strategies with measurable goals, and help socialize these strategies and coordinate execution among a diverse set of stakeholders .
- Netflix Gaming is growing rapidly with a flat organizational structure which means employees are often asked to perform tasks with a variety of difficulties. Must be motivated, disciplined and able to work effectively and autonomously.
JUDGMENTS
- 2+ years work experience in a highly analytical role, ideally in investment banking, management consultancy or a strategy and operations focused role at a top tier gaming or technology company.
- Any gaming specific work experience is a huge plus.
- Passionate about Netflix intellectual property and the entertainment industry in general.
- Experience performing quantitative analysis (including modeling) and qualitative analysis that can generate insights and results.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills with a proven track record of presenting complex analysis to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently; You must thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Highly intellectually curious, you have the courage to challenge the status quo and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.
- Bachelor's degree with specialization in courses of a quantitative nature, preferably Business, Economics or Statistics
- MBA is a big plus
- Passion for games is a big plus
- Excellent command of MS Excel/PowerPoint (and ideally their Google Suite counterparts)
- Good to have: Experience with Tableau, SQL, App Annie
