Job information:
As a Senior Game Designer for 3rd party games, you will work directly with developers to support our developers in creating the highest quality games. Ownership of the game and the design of tactical systems rests with the game developers; however, you will provide guidance and feedback throughout the game development cycle.
Responsibility:
- Work with manufacturers to provide developers with feedback on design, graphics, audio, and narrative to ensure we build the best games.
- Capture, communicate and align creative priorities, risks and opportunities to drive our games towards creative excellence.
- Understand and talk about the pillars of gaming (who the player is, what the player does, why it matters) for a wide variety of genres and audiences.
- Work with third-party developers to ensure Netflix's intellectual property is appropriately represented in game adaptations, including tone and creative considerations.
Judgments:
- 4+ years experience, with proven game development experience in a game design or creative leadership role (social, F2P, mobile, web, console, portable)
- Experience working with distributed or external teams.
- Ability to influence direction, without relying on positional authority
- A strong understanding of the game design challenges teams typically face and an understanding of how to tailor solutions to their unique needs.
- A proven track record of leading complex cross-functional projects with the successful delivery of quality in design, art, audio and storytelling
- Experience with Live Service, GaaS or retention oriented design
- Licensed gaming experience is a plus
